Warpaint wears their Warpaint.
The Californian four-piece are back and sexier than ever.
Managing to retain their ever – brooding sound of haunting, lilted vocals that sail over moody basslines and strut over ‘f u’ drum beats, the album spirals down into the Sucker Punch-esque noir realms of your mind displacing all vulnerabilities.
Produced by Flood (Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Sigur Ros) and mixed by Nigel Godrich (Radiohead) you see the girls grow into women as they explore their sensuality and fall into space, keeping ‘sexy’ in mind as quoted by Theresa Wayman (guitarist) when producing the album.
I can’t wait to see these guys for the second time at Laneway. They are a bloody beautiful darkness.
Being over a year since “The Fool”, their self-titled album “Warpaint” is set to be released next week on the 20th of January in Australia but you can stream the entire album online here.
