Series of portraits by Hamburg-based photographer Carsten Witte entitled 'Intuition'. The unnerving transformation of each subject's magnificently structured and beautiful face into a skull reveals the concept of a diabolical present giving way to a traumatic and apocalyptic future, the inescapable impending truth that one day we will all meet our fate, that is death incarnate.
The series further touches on the issues of nude, sexist and degrading portraiture that is so common within today's society and media, playing on this notion to take it a step further, truly laying the subject bare through visually depicting the anatomy of the subject themself. We are all just sculpted flesh and bone.
