An Active Sound.

If there is one act I am looking forward to seeing at Laneway Festival this year it is the genius that is Pat Grossi, aka Active Child. His incredible and intricate ability to layer minimalist Pseudo-dub-step beats with a Harp and his own lilting high-pitched vocals come from childhood influences such as his father's old school hip-hop and r n' b records as well as his own experience singing as part of the Philadelphia Boys' Choir when he was just nine.
The result of these honest beginnings is the intensely dark and hauntingly beautiful debut LP 'You are All I see' which is guaranteed to move something deep inside...yes it does reek of heartbreakingly passionate sex and heartbreak as well in general. It is an ear-gasmic MASTERPIECE. Words cannot fathom, just listen to the ominously raw darkness of 'Playing house' or the soaring sensation of being in love epitomised by the title track 'You are all I see'.
He is a true synesthetic mastermind of sound and emotion.

If your heart-strings could twang the sound of happiness...this would be reverberated in all its beautiful grandeur. Crank your headphones, close your eyes and soak up the sun.
